The Rolling Stones American Tour in November 1969 was their first US tour since 1966. Rock critic Robert Christgau called it "history's first mythic rock and roll tour."   On the first night of the Madison Square Garden concert, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner and BB King also made appearances.  Friedman was with Janis that night and was fortunate to have an “all access” alloing him to take this photo virtually on stage and just feet away from Mick.
